Streaming from TwonkyMedia to Windows Media Player 11

Post by ecostello » Fri Jun 08, 2007 2:48 pm

I am having trouble using Windows Media Player 11 as the client for TwonkyMedia streams. Could someone please provide me instructions or configuration tips for doing so?

I am streaming from TwonkyMedia to my Xbox360 without any issues.

No. The OS is WinXP Pro. Only WMP11 on Vista, eh? That is a bummer.

Can any other of the popular players connect under XP? I, too, find it tedious to maintain the media server, and the Winamp library, for example.

For now, this is my setup:

I have a Infrant ReadyNAS 1000S with 2TB of capacity. I have embedded TwonkyMedia and SlimServer into the NAS. Both media servers are scanning my iTunes library for changes, which is also located on the NAS. TwonkyMedia is streaming to a XBox360. SlimServer is streaming to WinAMP clients on my LAN and over the Internet.

I would really like to elimate SlimServer and do all of my streaming from one media server. Any suggestions?

I have Vista.
Where can I set in Windows Media Player 11 that Twonky will be the server?
I looked at all WMP11 menus, did not find anything.
I authorized WMP11 to receive streams.
Thanks

For some reason the WMP11 does not connect to my twonkyvision on my NSLU2 any more. Anybody have the same problem?

Hawk.
