Twonky 4.4 installed on NAS - need to scan a second NAS

Post by prmusic » Fri Aug 17, 2007 9:33 am

Hi Folks,

I have 2 NAS installed (Maxtor Shared Storrage II). One has the Twonky Server installed.
The NAS with the Twonky installation hosts the Music files and photos. The other NAS hosts the Videos.
Now I want to scan the Videos on the the second NAS but was not able so far how to setup the folder that Twonky can search for.

\\secondNASname\share does not work and
//secondNASname/share does not work either.

Do I need to mount the second NAS somehow in the first NAS with Twonky installed to be able to scan it?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

I have the same Problem.

You need to install a SMB Client on the NAS.

but don't ask me how to install this client sorry

I am in the exact same boat ...

I have 2 Buffalo Linkstations and it seems there are only SMB Servers installed and no Samba clients.

Can you access the Nas via Telnet ?

I tried a

Code: Select all

mount 192.168.177.12:/mnt/hda /mnt/linkstation300gb
But have a read here:
