Sound quality?

Post by ByggareBob » Thu Dec 13, 2007 8:49 am

My current set up is TVersity and PS3 and I think the mp3s sounds quiet a lot worse than on my previous set up with XBMC running on an Xbox.

My network is wired so there is no network issue.

The MP3s sounds like if they were 128kbps. All settings are correct in Tversity.

Now, my question is. Will TwonkyVision make my mp3s sound better or is this a common issue with all these kinds of prrograms?

I can't see how the volume is affected whether the MP3 data is read from a network stream or from USB disk. How would it?

Volume? No, what I meant was if TwonkyVision transcodes mp3s? Lets say the original mp3 is in 256kbps and Twonkyvision transcodes it into 128kbps when sending it to the PS3.

Oh I see; you said "sounds quiet" in your original message which threw me. I don't think it does transcode MP3s to different bitrates, but I could be wrong.
