Twonky Running on Synology

Post by ht354 » Sat Jul 28, 2007 4:09 pm

I have a SYnology 106e with a 500gb SATA drive installed. I have successfully installed Twonkymedia server and have it run.

I am running into the problem of having Twonky 4.3 not being able to index my 475gb of MP3's. Twonky indicates that it (Synology 106e) runs our of memory after 10 to 15 minutes of indexing. Is there any way to get Twonky Media to index all the MP3's and enable the server to serve up the MP3's to my DSM-320? Right now the diretories are only partially indexed and therefor will only allow for partial navigation.

How do you increase the available memory for twonky?

Found the answer myself...

1: telnet to the server and stop twonky (kill twonkymedia)
2: Edit the file twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini (Found in your twonkyvision folder). Set the following attribute to your desired value:

# maxmem
maxmem=30000

3: Save the file and restart the diskstation.

When the diskstation boots up it starts twonky with the modified .ini file.
