buffalo linkstation with external usb drive

I am trying to use a external usb drive that is attached to my buffalo linkstation as media storage. However the path doesn't seem to be available when adding content locations. I am only able to see the other folders at the root of the LS. Is there a way to show the usbdisk1 drive that is attached.
Any help would be appreciated.

I also installed a external usb drive to my linkstation and everythings work fine. What is exactly your problem?
At weekend i'm at home and can check my configuration.

what I mean is that all that shows up when trying to add content location is,

/
/share
/share-mac
/spool
/opt
/downloads

when the drive should show up as a folder at the same level. /usbdisk1 can be seen through explorer at this level but it doesn't show up in Twonky.

no problem for me. Following Folders are shown:
/
/ram
/hda
/info
/usbdisk1
/usbinfo
/share

The folders on the Linkstation HD are "behind" /hda.
The folders on the usbdisk are "behind" /usbdisk1.

The usbdisk must be connected to the usb-port of the Linkstation backside.

Have you setup/format (ext3) the usbdisk with the Linkstation web frontend?
Can you see the usbdisk with the Linkstation web frontend (http://LS-IP/cgi-bin/usb-info.cgi?)

I have a little different file structure than you as seen below it might be because I am on a very early LS1. I was unable to format the drive with the LS because all that shows is the internal drive so it was done with another linux box (ext3). However the usbdisk1 drive can be seen by the LS backup and scan utilities as well as in the system status. Yes the usb share is set to enable. It is like the drive is write protected.

I have attached an image that clearly shows my problem any help is appreciated.

I have almost exactly the same issue. I have a exteranl USB drive connected to my Terastation. Twonky can see the raid array but not the usbdisk.

Under Sharing I've tried every combination of adding the usbdisk without success.

I see the following folder structure:
/
/spool
/Backup
/capture
/share
/Other
/Movies

After researching the net for a while, this post is the only one that describes something sinliar to my issue.

However, I have learned to use Telnet and I've found out that the above folders do not actually reside on the root of the Terastation.

Here is the root folder structure:

/bin
/dev
/etc
/home
/lib
/mnt
/proc
/root
/sbin
/tmp
/usr
/var
/www

Inside the mnt folder the following folders exist :

/mnt/array1
/mnt/array2
/mnt/disk1
/mnt/disk2
/mnt/disk3
/mnt/disk4
/mnt/info
/mnt/ram
/mnt/usbdisk1
/mnt/usbdisk2
/mnt/usbdisk3
/mnt/usbdisk4

...and inside /mnt/array1 is where we find the folder structure that Twonky sees (spool, backup etc)

I guess my question is - can I mount, reference or create a shortcut (not sure which terminolgy to use) so that I can see the usbdisk1 inside the array1 folder?
