Hi,
My setup:
Synology CS407e
Twonky MediaServer 4.4.2
Linksys WRT54GL (tomato 1.17 firmware)
Denon 4308 (latest (feb 2008) firmware)
Questions, I hope someone can answer.
1. my music streams to denon drop randomly (1 or 2 times in an hour) . All connections are hard wired, so no wireless issues. No other activity on network. No standby on Synology. Any suggestions? Can I trace what's causing this, how do I set that up?
2. My denon shows for some (not all) music files the tag info missing the last letter. Is this a denon or twonky issue. I have upgraded tot 4.4.3 which gave me ore problems than solutions so went back tp Twonky 4.4.2.
Thanks, so much.
Peter

Re: Denon4308 + Linksys WRT54GL + Twonky
I have partly the same issue; I have a Denon 3808, and running Twonky 4.4.4 also gives missing last letter on MP3 tags. I have not figured out yet what makes that happen, probably mp3tag v1 vs v2. I do not suffer any dropouts though. Also hardwired, and also using Tomato 1.17 on my Linksys WRT54G (no L).

I guess Twonky 4.4.4 introduces more bugs than it fixed. However, there is no activity from any Twonky-personel anymore in the beta/development section ever since the release of 4.4.4 final. I think we do deserve some update as paying customers. I actually think Twonky/Packetvideo should communicate a lot more. When a new version is released, as a paying customer I would like to receive a notification, that should not be that hard to realise, right?

Re: Denon4308 + Linksys WRT54GL + Twonky
I used 4.4.3 and since yesterday 4.4.4 on a D-Link 323 with a Denon AVR 3808.
The MP3-Tag failure ( missing last Letter ) exists with 4.4.3 and 4.4.4.

Hi folks,
I´ve seen this is a Bug of the Denon Firmware:
...
When receiver net/usb music server playback of MP3's that have UTF-16 formated tags last letter missing of title, album, artist. Work around convert existing MP3's to tag format ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1 using utility program such as: http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
http://www.anytag.de/forums/index.ph...76&hl=mp3+tags
This Bug of Denon is reported also:
When a song is paused, browsing music server or USB folders behaves erratically. Should either browse correctly or not allow browsing when song is paused. Do not pause a song and browse music server or USB folders.

Re: Denon4308 + Linksys WRT54GL + Twonky
Sorry novice on these - I have a Denon 3808 and was planning to buy a D-Link 323 NAS - plan is store all music files on this - they are currently on my PC, and the Denon recognizes these files, and is able to play.
If I move these to the D-Link 323, will the Denon recongize and play these similarly? Is there a better alternative? On one of the forums/reviews, it was mentioned that the 323 only supports itunes and some other media format and could not read the files off a Roku Soundbridge - I use Windows Media Player 11 and have Vista on my PC. Will I be able to play even when the PC is off.
Thanks.
