Hi,
I'm looking for the best device for playing my Xvid & DivX & DVDmovies. I've got my flies in NAS QNAP 101 Server. I want to watch my avi files (with subtitles in CP1250) on my old TV with only SCART input. Generally I prefer linksys' HW and MPlayer based SW. I want to connect to my Twonky Server using WLAN. The device should have flexibility for future upgrades (new codecs) and should be easy to use. Any others features (e.g. TV recording and scheduling, othet inputs and outputs) are welcome.
I'm unable to find suggested clients on Twonky website. Thanks in advance for any support.
PS: Will the KiSS 1600 be working with Twonky Server?

I would say the PS3 without a shadow of a doubt. All the video clients I have used, I have been disappointed with. For a few quid more, you get a very decent video streamer client (MPEG1, MPEG2, WMV, DivX, some XVid, H.264-AVC), Audio streamer (MP3, WMA), picture streaming, unbelivably good picture slideshow presentations, Blu-ray player, a very good upscaling DVD player, Wired and Wireless networking, Remote access (via PSP), built in Web Browser, SACD support (not in the 40GB model thou), 7.1ch Audio, HDMI 1.3, Toslink optical.and did I also mention it players killer games
Having tried 3 or 4 of the big players, I came away usually disappointed lots of money, lots of bugs and a very limited featureset for the price.
Just my 2p worth...

Really?...
I didn't expect that answer. I thought that PS3 is designed for playing only. I will interest in PS3 more. What were the last three players you tried? Right now I'm focused on KiSS1600, but thank you for your advice.

The old Kiss units (before they were bought out by Linksys) were dreadful, they looked great on paper, but in reality they were a nigthmare to use. I had one for a week, but got a full refund as it as so bad. I would imagine that since Linksys took them over things will have improved but by how much, that is unknown. I don't know anyone that has one to ask.
Here are otherr inteesting links, which may sway you towards PS3, as that "all in one box under the TV"..
