ARM9 Twonky 4.4.5 vs PS3 2.40 No AVI?

Post by cmcardle75 » Mon Jul 07, 2008 10:05 pm

I've installed TwonkyMedia 4.4.5 on my LinkStation Live ARM9. .AVI files come up as "Unsupported Data" on my PS3. Any ideas?

1. LinkStation Live is latest stock firmware with standard Twonky 4.4.5 install.
2. PS3 was 2.36 with the problem. 2.40 didn't change anything (except brick the PS3 and require reformatting).
3. It has never worked for me.
4. The .AVI files play fine on the PS3 from a memory stick, Vista Media Player 11 or Mediabolic PCast. They were created by various digital cameras.
5. MPEG plays fine.
6. The client is listed as PS3. This was automatically detected, not overridden.

Is your video folder in all CAPS?

I've had this problem before, where my video folder was called "Video". It would not play. I changed it to VIDEO in both the Twonky setting and the actual folder.

Hope that works...

I just downloaded the pre-buit binary from the twonky site. To get the installer to work, you need telnet access to the Buffalo box. You can get this by running "acp_commander". You need java installed and acp_commander from:

http://downloads.nas-central.org/TOOLS/ ... mander.jar

java -jar acp_commander.jar -t <linkstation-ip> -o

I've pretty much given up and have installed a generic Debian Linux installation on the box and am currently running MediaTomb instead.
