Deleting mp3 id tags v1 solves some problems

Post by petercr59 » Wed Nov 19, 2008 9:17 am

I'm using twonky on a buffalo linkstation together with Noxon clients several years. My music collection contains over 12000 titles.
In the past I had always the problems with "Umlaute" - and I didn't found a solution.
Last week I added 50 mp3 titles in one album. In this case it was not possible to select one title - Noxon lost the connection in such situations. It was only possible to play the whole album (all 50 titles).

I googled regarding "twonky mp3 tag" and found the article:
http://forum.fujitsu-siemens.de/Digital ... =42&t=5786
There is clearly mentioned, that Twonky doesn't support id3 tags version 1.

May be that I was really blind the last years and this information is also documented or covered in this forum.
If this is the case, please apologize this topic.

It tooks me 45 minutes last evening to delete the version 1 tags of all my titles with a freeware tool.
I rescanned my music collection. And now I am happy. Both problems I mentioned above are solved.

I thought it might be helpful for other users.

Hi,

I am having trouble with a large audio catalogue, not sure if this could be affecting me as i have audio files form way back and assume quite a few must have version 1 tags,

Any chance you could point me at that tool so i can have a go ?

Thanks
