Streaming VC1 & DTS M2TS & Bluray folder

Post by wattoo » Thu Feb 12, 2009 10:08 am

Hello all,

I like the Twonky very much (test version), but unfortunately I missed a lot of features. I will buy it directly if Twonky has implemented the following goodies/features:

* Currently it is not possible to stream a complete bluray folder; only 1 M2TS file (I mean without conversion or splitting)
* M2TS File with DTS will not have sound; therefore the request to play the complete bluray folder structure
* VC1 coded material can not be streamed to PS3; data is corrupt message on PS3

Could you tell me when these limitations will be fixed? Future release?

thanks and regards

This is a restriction of the PS3 firmware - M2TS files will only play with AC3 sound. You'll need to extract the DTS or TrueHD track, convert it to AC3 and mux it back in to the M2TS file.

Yep. Another restriction of the PS3 firmware. VC1 encoded files will not play at all. You'll need to convert the file to AVC before it will play (very slow process, even on quad core machines).

You can Google for solutions to the above.

Hope this helps.
