I've also posted this on the QNAP forum, but I'm not getting any responses
Infrastructure:
TS-409U f/w 3.1.0 build 0708T
TwonkyMediaServer v4.4.17
2 x hard-wired PS3 v3.15
Netgear WGR614v9 router with uPnP enabled
3Com SuperStack 4929 Gigabit switch
CAT6 cabling throughout
Problem:
Neither of the PS3's can find Twonky.
Each PS3 can access the internet and, using the internal browser, can access the Twonky configuration console on port 9000.
The NAS can ping both PS3's.
All kit is on the same sub-net.
I can access the nas/twonky folders directly from WinXP.
Anyone have any ideas why my PS3's are having such a hard time with this??
Cheers, Steve

Re: [HELP] PS3 cannot find Twonky media server
Hi Steve, Have same problem and also posted to request for help on this forum,
Lots of view and yet no helpful suggestions....
Feel their isn't any point... should have just gone and spent my money on some other product where the support would be a lot more helpful..

You've missed the point of the forum - it's for users to help each other with problems. The lack of response to this one is because no-one has had the same problem, or that no-one knows the answer.themage wrote:Feel their isn't any point... should have just gone and spent my money on some other product where the support would be a lot more helpful..

@themage,
Yeah I know what you mean. It's disappointing that no one can offer any help on this. Luckily I didn't buy TMS as it came already installed on my QNAP nas, so I'm not out of pocket. I tried Twonky support directly but they weren't interested; they don't support OEM installs, so I don't understand why they offer (license?) them in the first place.
Still can't get TMS to show up anywhere on my network Have given up trying

Re: [HELP] PS3 cannot find Twonky media server
PROBLEM SOLVED!!
It turns out that my 3Com switch was filtering uPNP traffic. My frustration finally got the better of me, so I start from first principles, dismantling the network down to it's bare components and bingo! With the switch in place , but taken out of the loop
So happy days!

Surely this would have meant that NO UPnP/DLNA servers would have worked?

Re: [HELP] PS3 cannot find Twonky media server
Hi Steve,
Congrats, Could you please explain how you got it sorted.I have updated both the software on my PS3 to 3.2. aswell on my Qnap to V 3.2.4 with Twonky 5.1.3 but still am unable to stream to PS3 . I can see my PS3 connected to media server config on Twonky page but PS3 is unable to find the Twonky server.
Oh and mgillespie who was so kind enough to point out the sticky, Its been 2 months and I am yet to receive any reply from the support..........
