Is this a twonkyvision bug/known issue?

Post by u33db » Fri May 23, 2008 8:56 am

Hello, i've been experiencing a problem over the past fortnight since installing twonkyvision.

Basically after watching a few videos (where i have fast forwarded) subsequent videos will freeze for a moment then sometimes continue to play or some just hang there.

Usually the content has been downloaded or ripped by myself (i'm doing my whole dvd collection atm in xvid) so i just put it down to badly encoded media or the netgear EVA700 box being "quirky".

However, it happened again last night...resetting the netgear did nothing so i checked the xvid on my laptop - it played perfectly. I restarted twonky..the EVA seemed to respond faster and the same video which freezed repeatedly played fine.

Is there some kind of issue with twonky where it gets jammed up if there has been a lot of seeking/fast forwarding being done on video files?

Server uptime was circa 5 days and its used every night for a few hours...

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I have a very similar problem.

When I play videos on my PS3, and their size is ~ 350MB, they freeze sometimes (just for a moment), but when their size is ~ 600MB, they freeze a lot of times and it makes watching the video unbearable.

How could I solve this problem? My connection is quite fast (5Mb/s), so I don't think that would be the problem.
