Very poor quality of JPEG pictures
Post

Hi,
I´m using the server v6 on a NAS Thecus N7700 with a Linksys Kiss 1600 Client and a Sony KDL-37W550 TV.
Video and audio are just fine, but JPEG´s are shown with a very very poor quality (resolution of 80x80 I guess)
I´ve already added the parameter XM:NOTRPICS to the Kiss section of clients.db, but with no success...
Pictures from a PC with the Kiss Software as Server are shown very fine in High-res.
Any ideas ?
Thanks a lot,
kind regards
Martin

Hello Martin,
very good topic!!
I have exact the same problem with my Qnap Nas 410 (incl. Twonky Server Vers. 5.1.6) and Pioneer TV:
Due to the fact ,I just own the NAS for one week only, I thought I´m the only one with that problem.
When I access the nas with my streaming client xtreamer sidewinder without using Twonky all pictures are fine on my TV.
How can help??
Best regards
Stephan

Hi Stephan,
till now, no solution

The answer from twonky support also frustrating:
"The NAS builds of TwonkyMedia server are provided "as is" for advanced users who wish to install them at their own risk. We do not provide technical support for these versions."
Perhaps I will install the twonky software to a PC and see what happens to picture quality..
Martin
PS: Is there really nobody who could help ?

Hi Stephan,
problem solved!
I had to reset the client list to let twonky scan for clients and as result, twonky shows my Kiss player as 'Netgear EVA 2000' player. But also 'Generic Player' shows pictures in good quality.
Give it a try and change your twonky client player name from the client list.
Good luck,
Martin
