Cache memory size four times higher in 6.0.23?
Hi,
I upgraded from 6.0.1 to 6.0.23 over the weekend. In 6.0.1 the cache memory size was just over 13000 Kb. With 6.0.23, this has grown to 52881 KB, which is roughly four times the previous size. I was wondering if this is normal? I did try rebuilding the database, just in case. I don't have any problems running TwonkyServer since the upgrade, but this increase does stick out.
Thanks,
Michel

Re: Cache memory size four times higher in 6.0.23?
There appears to be a memory leak in this version.
On a reboot, it would rebuild the database.
My cache is 100MB. 19 hours later it was up to 380MB. I had it running for 4 days, and it was at 1800MB!
I noticed when I access it from the web interface, it takes a while to connect, that's what tipped me off on the cache size. Something is definately up with memory consumption.
I should add if I go into the web interface, and do a "restart server" it will come back with the 100MB cache again.

Re: Cache memory size four times higher in 6.0.23?
Since I posted it has only gone up to 53000 KB (53Mb). I may have added a few files - not sure. Server's been up for nearly 3 days. I'm running the Windows version on a Windows Home Server box (Acer H340.)

Hmmm... I haven't did a database refresh or changed added/removed files for almost a day, and it's fine.
Before I was adding a file, removing and refreshing, and memory usage started to grow exponentially.
I think it's something with the "rescan directory contents"

Re: Cache memory size four times higher in 6.0.23?
Stabilized at 52948 KB, running for nearly 4 days now. I did see it go over 53000 a couple of times, then it shrinks back to 52948 KB. I did add a few files (well, just 13 songs - not much considering I have over 31,000) last night and it didn't go nuts or anything. Will keep monitoring. Still much higher than the roughly 13200Kb I had with 6.0.1 though.
Re: Cache memory size four times higher in 6.0.23?
Hmmm... I had it running for a day and a bit, without touching the files, or twonky, and cache size still grows. Starts at 100MB for me, this morning it was up at 600MB.
Thanks for looking into this.

Thanks for posting all of this additional info. We have been able to reproduce this problem. We found that things got better after rebuilding the database. Are you seeing the same?

I did notice that. I did also notice that all I need to do is a "server restart" in the web interface, and it's fine again.

Cache size in 6.0.28 consumes WHS's usable space on C drive
Hi,
WHS has a small 20GB C SYS drive. Version 6 of the server installs on C: The media is stored on D. It appears the cache of Twonky is filling the C: drive to capacity.
Is there a switch or option to move the cache to D, clear it, or set a maximum size for it?
Should I reinstall to D: instead of C:as a workaround?
Thank you
