Delay in locating Twonky Server by a Panasonic G20 TV

Post by sterav » Mon Nov 08, 2010 1:06 pm

I'm aware this is a matter involving lots of elements apart from Twonky software, but I try to find an advice here, anyway.

I've installed TM/TS on a notebook running WinXP SP3 in order to allow my Panasonic G20 TV to play multimedia contents (mp3, photo and videos) stored there. My home LAN is managed through a Fritz!Box 7140 wireless router. The TV is connected to router via Ethernet cable and all of its Internet features (Viera Cast) work fine.

This is my problem: when I select the "Media Server" feature on TV, it always shows an error message "Server Not Found". Then, after a delay of about 30-45 seconds, the Twonky Server appears in the list of servers. From that moment onwards all work fine.

Such delay is a bit nasty and does not happen with another pc connected to homelan that shares multimedia contents via Windows Media Player.

I would like to know if there's a chance to eliminate the delay. Any hint, please?

Thank you.
