Does the trial version support transcoding?

Post by kitsunegari » Mon Nov 08, 2010 8:46 pm

As the title basically, I've read the FAQs and can't actually find this rather important piece of information. If I've missed it, please forgive me, if its not there, please add it to the FAQ!

Most of my music is ripped to FLAC, and I have quite a few AVIs ripped onto my Windows Home Server. I have a Sony Bravia TV (it is on the supported list), and obviously would like to stream films/music to it, but it won't play those file formats, so I was hoping Twonky could transcode the above formats on the fly.

If they do, I'd like to be able to test the functionality before purchasing a licence, seems reasonable to me?

Important here too! I just got GoogleTV, and while I can stream audio from TwonkyServer on my Mac, the video files from EyeTV (MPEG-4 I think) just give me a black screen. I want to test this before I purchase, but the transcoding options for video are greyed out.

Thanks!

Ah wait - I did find this - http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8550 I now have the transcoding buttons available. So far though I've not been able to get Google TV to play back any of the EyeTV videos. Will keep hunting.
