Twonky & Itunes Smart Playlists
Why is Twonky able to find and display certain itunes smart playlists (Most Played, Last Played etc .... ) and any of my static playlists but none of my smart playlists?
Is there a way to enable Twonky to do this please?
Running 6.0.28

.... Also for some reason if I list music by personal rating and select 5 star it also includes all unrated music too.

Updated to 6.0.32 - Still the same.

Thanks for reporting these issues.

Twonky generates it's own smart playlists (Most Played, Last Played, etc). We used to import the iTunes ones as well, but it confused users because they have two Most Played smart playlists. Now we just import user-created playlists from iTunes. Why is Twonky able to find and display certain itunes smart playlists (Most Played, Last Played etc .... ) and any of my static playlists but none of my smart playlists? Is there a way to enable Twonky to do this please?

Re: Twonky & Itunes Smart Playlists
This may be a bug. Could you please send me an unrated song which appears with 5 star-rated content? That might save us time reproducing this issue. If you can, send it to tmm-beta@pv.com. I will destroy the file as soon as we confirm this issue. Also for some reason if I list music by personal rating and select 5 star it also includes all unrated music too.
Let me know once you've sent the file, so I can make sure it wasn't filtered by our mail system.

Re: Twonky & Itunes Smart Playlists
I will email some samples shortly, RE the itunes smart playlists would it be possible to re-introduce this as a user option? .... I have many itunes smart playlists that I'd like to use.
Alternatively is there a way to re-enable that feature on the current build or failing that could you tell me what is the last twonky version that supported it so I can revert to that.
Thanks.

Re: Twonky & Itunes Smart Playlists
I don't think the build which displayed all iTunes Smart Playlists was ever publicly released. I could be wrong however.
I will make sure the right people hear about of your request for this feature.

Re: Twonky & Itunes Smart Playlists
Regarding the rating issue I think I have found why its happening - I picked 3 tracks that have no rating within itunes but upon checking their properties within windows I have found they have been rated using some other method that doesn't show up in itunes
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Twonky & Itunes Smart Playlists
I looked into the possibility of having us reimport the iTunes smart playlists again and just filter the ones which are redundant, but that's unfortunately not possible. For those who care why, you can read the long-winded answer below.
We never simply imported smart playlists from iTunes. We created our own smart playlists using their rules. iTunes doesn't store smart playlists, it creates them on-the-fly based on expressions. This allows users to create their own. If we simply tried to import these, they wouldn't be updated when the user made changes. If we tried to implement the same logic it would require significant effort because Apple appears to store this data in an impossible to read manner.
