Since I bought a QNAP TS-119 NAS a couple of months ago, my Sony Bravia 52V5800 could play music and show pictures from the Twonky Server on the QNAP without any problems. (Video playback is limited to MPEG on the TV, so I never really used it.)
But since this morning, all the DLNA entry points (Picture, Music, Videos) on the TV only bring up the navigation tree for pictures, which of course does not contain any useful music or video files, so in essence, music playback doesn't work anymore. The Twonky web interface doesn't have this problem, though. This seems to point at the TV as the culprit, but I can't think why it would all of a sudden stop working.
When I went to the QNAP admin menu, there was a new firmware ready (3.4.3, it was 3.4.0 before) which I installed, hoping the problem would go away, but it remains unchanged. Unfortunately I therefore don't know my old Twonky version if it was updated by the firmware, but it is 5.1.6 now.
Does anyone have an idea what might be the problem?
I've tried rebooting the NAS, rebuilding the database in Twonky, changing the settings for the navigation (to "iPod-like" etc.), deleting Twonky from the server list on the TV and turned off my TV in the meantime numerous times, but nothing helps.
PS. I almost forgot: Earlier this week, I had to turn off the NAS because it had become unresponsive, at least via the web interface. I have probably not used the music playback since, but I can't think why that would cause this problem.
Thanks
Oliver

Re: Only photo navigation on Sony TV
That fact that the web interface still has all media types shows that the media server is operating correctly. Double-check all of the settings on your TV and make sure that anything related to media servers or media sharing is enabled. You migth want to also make sure your running the newest firmware on your TV, or revert back to the previous firmware -- if it offers that option.
