I'm still having a memory leak version on this version as well.
Is anyone else having it? I did make some customs views, and I'm wondering if that's tha cause?

What operating system are you running on (eg "Windows 7 Pro 64 bit" or "Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit" etc)?
No longer running Twonky
Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.37 is Now Available for Download!
Sorry, forgot to mention that.
It's running on Windows Server 2008 x64.
It's not a huge runaway leak like some previous versions, but same as 6.0.36 anways. My cache is typically 36MB. It sometimes stays like that for a while, then it will just grow tp 170MB. I typically hit "server restart" and then it comes back to 36MB for some time again. I know in a previous version, I had it spike to 1.8GB in a couple of days, but it doesn't seem to be that severe now.

Thanks Rick. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something in my setup. It does seem to run fine for undeterminate amount of time, and then I don't know what triggers it to start to grow.TMM_Product_Manager wrote:I have seen this and reported it to Christian Gran. Another note:
Under the "media receiver" tab, it will save a new view profile to a receiver but then reverts to the default view (I think that happens after a server restart).

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.37 is Now Available for Download!
Here is what one of our engineers said about this:
- RickThere was a memory leak when using playlists and time-based rescans (scantime>0). On each rescan some memory was lost.
This issue was fixed in 6.0.38 and the tool we use to check for memory leaks says we're fine now.

Hi,
First of all: great work with this new release!
Question: are the issues with Samsung TV's already solved within this release? For example the 'subtitle option' and the 'resume option'. See: http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9827

Last I heard Samsung did something in their firmware which broke subtitles. I'm not sure if this was ever fixed, please let us know.Markvm wrote:Hi,

I'm not sure if it's possible for us to fix the issues you're seeing with Resume. That sounds like a player issue to me and that software is embedded in your TV. If you can find another media server (other than Samsungs which has proprietary hooks) which supports both of these features with the newest Samsung firmware please let me know and I will open a new bug reports for one or both of these issues.

TwonkyServer 6.0 does not support file system eventing for MacOS. When eventing is not supported TwonkyServer defaults back to timer-based scanning and uses 60 minutes as default. So what you are reporting is the expected behavior on MacOS.
I do have a bit of good news. We are planning to address this issue in TwonkyServer 7.0. After we post a Beta for that here, please let us know if this issue has been addressed.
[Thanks Burkhard for looking into this issue]

Hi Rick.
But this feature use to work on 6.0.32. I actually reverted back to it and it does work. So I don't really understand what changed exactly. But I think I will stick to this version for now.
Cheers

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.37 is Now Available for Download!
Hello.
I want to thank you all for the continued support for DNS 323 and Twonky.
Now some info on a bug...
Same bug as previous release. Seems after TwonkyServer 6.0.32(this one works for me) there has been a new bug implemented that not many have noticed.
DNS 323 - Twonky Server 6.037
TV: Samsung TV 46 inch LN46C550
TV Plays the movie file, but than a few seconds into it, I get the message that it has been disconnected. Go back to 6.0.32 and it plays the same movie file fine. I tried rebuilding the database, delete and reinstall, no luck. Started with version 6.0.34.
This is with any movie file. As well sometimes just looking at the list of movies causes the disconnect.
Thanks for any help.

Hello,
In the link where I've downloaded the 6.0.37 version (which is working well) is writed :"These versions can also be activated with a TwonkyServer 5.x license key.". I have WD MBL which had Twonky server version 5, where can I find the license key?
thanks & regards,

Question: are the issues with Samsung TV's already solved within this release? For example the 'subtitle option' and the 'resume option'. See: http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9827
Last I heard Samsung did something in their firmware which broke subtitles. I'm not sure if this was ever fixed, please let us know.

Hi Rick,
I found this reply rather disapointing.

Are you asking us to figure out what Samsung did with "their new firmware"? Which firmware? Which TV? Which bug? As long as this feature work with their own server it cannot be broken.

To be honest I purchased Twonky because it was BETTER than other options. If I was to find something else that does this, not only would I switch to the other solution but I will also ask for a refund for the license I paid to you. Especially the resume feature is really not something very complicated to do. I already gave some hints about how to do it (but I was ignored). This shows me that apparently you are not even willing to at least investigate the problem that affects so many of you customers.
I was thinking very highly of Twonky and the support offered to it but it seems you are trying hard to prove me wrong.
Looking forward for your thoughts!

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.37 is Now Available for Download!
PS: and because you asked for it, Mezzmo v 2.3.0 that was released since April, does support both subtitle on/off and resume function on the Samsung Tvs as can be seen here
http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.ph ... ilable-now!
PS2: I haven't tested this software with my tv yet but I do hope that only this info is enough for you to add it as a "bug"
Thank you!

Hi,
the 6.0.37 works very fine - but I found a "zombie".
(And today on Halloween is a good time in the year to announce this
8161 ? Z 0:00 [mediafusion-int] <defunct>
I did not configure the mediafusion functionality - I just updated from a 6.0.34 and using Debian Squeeze.

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.37 is Now Available for Download!
I've just tried 6.0.37 on the ICYBOX 4220-B.
The thumbnail support for video's seems to be faulty. This was working in 6.0.34. I can see in the DB that it has associated the images with the video files but for some reason does not present it to the media receiver.
I would revert to 6.0.34 but that has another bug where it searches all the hard-drive on the NAS, not only the specified directories
For reference, I connect to the Server with a WDTV HD Live running the latest standard firmware.

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.37 is Now Available for Download!
I was happy to update, as I'm in the need for remote access.TMM_Product_Manager wrote:TwonkyServer 6.0.37 is now available for Mac, PC and Linux.
Download it here:
http://www.twonky.com/support/downloads.aspx
This still don't work however as the html resolves the dyndnsURL as "LocalIP".
I've sent documentation/screendumps on this to support a couple of times, but never recieved any responce.
Could they end up in Cyberspace?
Else I find many improvements.
Where do one find beta/unreleased versions, hopefully working remoteaccess?

Interesting! I'm also going to test this. However I will not soon leave Twonky and therefore I hope they are able to fix the issues with subtitle and resume functions on Samsung TVs.Shhhh wrote:PS: and because you asked for it, Mezzmo v 2.3.0 that was released since April, does support both subtitle on/off and resume function on the Samsung Tvs as can be seen here

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.37 is Now Available for Download!
We still have plans to improve our remote access. This will appear in an update to the portal version of TwonkyServer. This update will NOT be available until next year. I do not yet have a release date for this unfortunately.Where do one find beta/unreleased versions, hopefully working remoteaccess?
When available, beta versions are posted in the Beta section of this forum. There are no active betas at this time.

btw: I can't "improve" as it is simply "not working" (at least windowsversion)

Re: TwonkyServer 6.0.37 is Now Available for Download!
Hi,
after update to v6.0.37 I get corrupted thumbnails in Win7 MediaPlayer now:

The same album comes with correct and corrupted jpegs.
Other problem is, that TS generate multiple entries for the same album (see pic).
TwonkyServer on LG NAS N2B2 (Linux)
Receiver settings: Windows 7, Advanced media view
After rebuild the media database don't changed anything.
Edit: On PS3 as media renderer the same corrupted thums but no redundant album entries (may be one mediaplayer specific problem).

Any news on these two features? Any plans to implement them in the near future?
It's been over a month now so maybe you can give us some more info on this topic.
Thanks

I tried the link to download 6.0.37 but it's dead. Is there a reason for that? I am looking for the Kirkwood binaries
