I have a twonky server running on a PC, installed for the first time yesterday (trial version). For a few hours yesterday, I could see it from other devices on the network (e.g. from laptop I could see the http config page being issued from TMS on the desktop). Very happy. But now I can no longer see the twonky except from the PC itself. I've tried switching everything off and on again but it still doesn't show.
The hardware is HP PC connects through a HomePlug to a BT Homehub router which comunicates wirelessly with the laptop. In the end I want to get a music player to see the Twonky, but I guess getting the laptop to see it is the first step forward.
I changed the homehub so it gave the HP PC the same IP address each time. Is this useful? Any other settings I should make on the homehub? Can I get any useful debug from the twonky?
How to understand why the twonky server is not findable?

Re: How to understand why the twonky server is not findable?
Some additional info in case it helps.
The browser on the PC (running the server) is http://192.168.1.72:9000 (I see the music through this browser window).
The PC is running Windows Vista (ugh).
The PC is running AVG Free 2012.
The laptop is a mac.
I can ping 192.168.1.72 from the laptop and get replies.
A browser on the laptop looking at http://192.168.1.72:9000 says "the server where the page is located is not responding" (but yesterday I saw music there).

I uninstalled and reinstalled twonky and it's working again. Happy. Would still like to understand better what to do if the problem happens again.

The next time it happens, where you cant see it from a remote pc,
verify that you can or can not open the url while on the server pc

Re: How to understand why the twonky server is not findable?
Thanks for the reply. I could always see the twonky data through the web interface on the server itself.
Last night I re-ripped many CDs. We already had wav files for the music but even after I had checked the tags were ok the data was messed up in the twonky view (songs with unknown artist etc). But after ripping to flac using dbpoweramp all looks good. Maybe the wav tags weren't being understood by twonky?
Anyway, thanks again for your support. Hope it carries on working ...
