No subfolders shown: messy!

Post by xtrips » Tue Dec 27, 2011 8:56 pm

Hello,

I know this subject has already been addressed in this forum but since it has not been answered I will open (yet) another thread.
I have installed a NAS for my wife based on Unraid and am running Twonky srv, latest build, on it.
She is using a WDTV Live media streamer, that does not support SMB server, and that's why I chose Twonky.
The thing is under Videos/By folder all the videos scanned are shown as if they were under the same folder, disregarding their respective directory tree. And that is messy. Impossible to browse.
I guess there must be a solution but I couldn't find it.
Help needed.

Thanks :?

You're running Twonky 6.0.38?

What options did you chose in the web interface for that client?

Yes, the 6.0.38 version. And I am using the HTML interface.
What does it have to do with the way I browse for videos in my media streamer?

In the settings interface, under Media Receivers, what are the settings you've chosen for the client? It is the last 2 columns that are relevant (eg Generic Media Receiver and By Folder).

It was set to Advanced Media View. I tried By Folder but the change does not help.
Isn't there anything I can do on my NAS, with my files, so that Twonky respects the subfolder structure in the end?

Twonky does, if your client supports it. What setting did you chose for the media renderer (eg, does it say Generic, WD Live or something else - please be exact).

It says WD TV HD Live Media Player, which is the media streamer I have indeed.

Have you checked on the WD forums to see that it supports folders? It may be that it only supports a flat view of the media.

The WD TV Live does support Videos/By Folder. I have 2 of them and do not have problems viewing Videos/By Folder. That is the only way I view my videos from my NAS, though I am still running Twonky 6.0.37.

Have you tried rebuilding the Twonky database on your NAS?
