Where to store Rating and Keywords in Pictures

Post by pgillet » Thu May 03, 2012 11:53 am

Hello,

I use a build-in Twonky Server on my Qnap NAS-Storage for presenting my Photos on my Panasonic Viera TV.
I tried several Photo Gallery / Photo Management Tools for Rating and Categorizing my 50.000 Pictures but the only SW which writes the information to the right location is MS Live Photogallery.
Instead of MS Windows I would prefer to manage my photos on a Linux system, but I cannot find any information in which place (EXIF/XMP/...) the rating / keywords tags have to be placed (eg. with exiftool) to be correctly used by the Twonky server.
Can anyone help with this issue ?
Best regards
Peter

The only way that I know to enter this is with Windows Live Photo Gallery or TwonkyManager. More info here:

Sadly I don't know of a Linux only solution. A while back I talked to someone who was successfully running TwonkyManager on a Linux emulator, but I don't know if that still works.
