TwonkyServer 7.0.9 : NAS-builds

Post by umgfoin » Fri Jul 27, 2012 10:54 am

Would it be possible to bring back MIPS big endian support in the special-build branch, again?
"Linux MIPS big endian uclibc 0.9.28" is missing since 7.0.9.

Thanks,
umgfoin.

I upgraded from 7.0.5 to 7.0.9 on Windows XP but have had some problems:

- Something went wrong with the upgrade process and I was left with stray files at the root of the C: drive and a non-functioning installation. I then did an uninstall, removed the Twonky directories and reinstalled from scratch after which 7.0.9 worked.

- There is now a TwonkyMedia directory at the root of the C: drive, with 6 directories inside like mirroredmusicfoldername. Should this really be here?

- On my Panasonic TX-P42G20B TV with 7.0.5 I could view both DivX and XviD videos. Now in 7.0.9 only DivX ones work - XviD videos give a please wait message and then cannot read file.

- With both 7.0.5 and 7.0.9 video thumbnails are black but with the same random lines pattern in each and the server seems to take some time in generating these for each video.

In better news, the problem I had with a possible bad MP3 causing the server to exit in 6.0.39 hasn't happened since upgrading to 7.0.

It say that from 7.0.8 it has "preserve settings"... so on the NAS version of Twonky Server 7.0.8 how does one preserve the settings to upgrade to 7.0.9?

Re: TwonkyServer 7.0.9 is Now Available for Download!

Hello,

I have à Twonky Media server V4.4.18 installed on my NAS Synology DS-106e for a while now (2009). My TV Philips 32PFL8605H_12 works with it, but I got some problems from time to time.

I want to install a more recent (more performing?) version of Twonky. Twonky support team told me that I can install the 7.0.9 with my licence key.
I found and got the version 7.0.9 special for my DS106e, but there is no “nassetup.exe” in this package to install it from my PC.
How to solve this problem because I am not able to install directly in the Unix system of the NAS?
Is it possible to use the nassetup.exe file of another package?
What is the last version that contains “nassetup.exe”?
Many thanks in advance for any advice
Regards

I am not provided with any NAS installation instructions. In addition, we don't have most NAS available here at this location, so we can't try these.

We provide these as a service to our very advanced users who are normally able to get them to work. You might try searching the forum for instructions. Or post an installation question in the NAS section of this forum.

Hopefully someone who has already done this can post some tips here as well.

Hey,
just updated to the latest version
but since the update i can't access the settings page due to a login mask. Neither admin nor existing user and password combos are working.
The server unless is running and working with my old settings as it seems.
But how can I now access the settings page? is the universal "first" login?

thx
Didi

by default, it opens to the settings page in 7.x
I have seen that happen even when it was configured correctly,
when I have seen it happen it was a browser issue

the old /config is no more (/webconfig does work though)
it is now /#status

for example

New version: http://www.twonkyforum.com/downloads/7. ... -7.0.9.zip
Previous working version: 6.0.39

Have an issue with internet radio playlists e.g.

Code: Select all

http://stream-sd.radioparadise.com:8050
http://stream-sd.radioparadise.com:8052

All links are undefined and the downloaded m3u file e.g. http://192.168.x.x:9000/json/feed/0$1$9$53.m3u is empty (0 byte).

It's not the first time this does not work for Twonky, as reported by other users too: http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic.ph ... 070#p31174

m3u playlist files for local stored FLAC files are working fine.

Any chance you can make a build for a DS209+ version ? It has the Freescale PowerQUICC III MPC8533 (which is also compatable with the 8543 PPC model).

thanks

from a search I found this

http://forum.buffalo.nas-central.org/vi ... 40&t=22477

http://buffalo.nas-central.org/wiki/TS-HTGL

which tells me that one of the Buffalo TeraStation builds "might" work for a Freescale
not sure which one that would or would not work, if at all

•Buffalo TeraStation
•Buffalo TeraStation Homeserver
•Buffalo TeraStation Pro (PPC)
•Buffalo TeraStation Live

Unfourtunately it won't, the buffalo is a MPC8241, which does not work on a MPC8233 (gives seg fault). I had tried the Synology X07, X06 series as well, both are based off the MPC8241 or MPC8245. But neither worked. With a MPC8533 build it should work for Synology X08 and X09 series.

this forum is most likely not looked at as much as the community site
It would be best to also voice your wishes on that site
as Im sure your not the only one who would like a build for your nas
