Videos and music suddenly unavailable

This was working fine for some time but suddenly would not play video or music.

I have re-enabled, rebuilt the DB, restarted the NAS and the WD Live, etc.

The WD shows up as a device, and a list of files shows up on the WD Live but, except for photos, music and video will not play, just an endless orange circle animation.

Any suggestions welcome...

does using the twonky web interface from a pc work?
do you have any other dlna clients on the network to check from?
like maybe windows media player in windows 7?
