TwonkyMedia and network shares

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

first of all let me congratulate you - this is a great product. There is only one "tiny" problem that keeps me from being absolutely happy:

TwonkyMedia v4.4.9 is running on my Windows 2003 Server SBS-System - so far so good, no problems. But my file subsystem is on a NAS. Unfortunately I cannot configure TwonkyMedia to use shares on my NAS to store videos and music. If I configure my NAS to attach to my server as an iSCSI target there is no problem because then my subsystem is acting like an ordinary harddisk. But in this case I cannot access my videos and music through my Macrosystem Enterprise because this system cannot deal with Active Directory services. See my problem?

Am I doing something wrong, or is this not possible? If this feature is not included in the current version do you plan to implement it in future? (PLLLEAAAASSEEEE?)

Best regards
Toni

Hi,

I too am running Twonky on SBS2003 although want to move to XP and naslite (due to my network setup) so would be in a similar situation to you.

Have you tried;

- Create a local admin user account on the SBS server,
- log in as that user,
- set up mapped drives to your NAS box, making sure the 'reconnect at login' box is checked
- log out of SBS
- log in as domain admin
- configure the twonky service to run under the local user created in the previous steps.

This should get round it as Twonky will definately be able to *see* the NAS shares using drive letters.

Best of luck
