PS3 takes a long time to load picture thumbnails.

I installed TMS 5.1.2 on my Windows Home Server box a couple of days ago. I've noticed when I try to look at my pictures on my PS3, that the thumbnails take a really long time to load. While the thumbnails are loading there is a process running on my server called convert.exe that applies a heavy load to the server.

The thing that confuses me is when I look at the pictures using the web interface, the thumbnails load very quickly. Why do the thumbnails for the PS3 take so long to be generated? Is there anything that I can do to improve the performance of looking at pictures on my PS3?
