Xbox 360 Lists Erratic Numbers of Music Folders & Files

Twonky server runs on my My Book World Edition II NAS, where I store my iTunes media. I set up Twonky to scan the folder that contains dozens of subfolders organized by artist with the albums inside them. The total file count is over 5000.

When I play videos off of the server via Twonky, it works great. Every file is listed on the Xbox. But when I attempt to load my /Shared Music directory, only some of the folders are listed -- and the number changes each time I restart the Twonky server and it does a rescan of the library. Only rarely does it list the full 316 folders in the directory, meaning I can usually only access a fraction of my music.

I have tried:
- restarting the Twonky server
- rebuilding the Twonky server database file
- rebooting the MBWE server
- minor edits to the twonkyvision-mediaserver.ini file (increased cache size)
- played with 'Media Receivers' settings for the Xbox 360 (which the server detected fine)
- pretty much everything else that i can think of

Nothing has worked. I can never get the server to consistently display all of the files in my Music directory.

I've tried other servers, and none has been as easy to deal with as Twonky, but this is a big problem. Please help!

Hello. I've been having the same issue. I posted as well but didn't get a reply. I'm using a DLink DNS-343 and XBox 360 and have approximately 8k songs, but can only see about 300 or so as well. I did email support and after a couple of emails back and forth - this is the reply I rec'd:

Just curious... How many videos do you have? I haven't reached that magical 300ish number of videos... I'm getting close and hope I don't have the same problem with videos that I'm having with audio!

Well, today I began seeing the same problem with videos. If I go to the Server Status, I have 420 videos. However, when I go to pull them up on the Xbox I only can find 402...

Has anyone else besides us run into this problem? I'd like to stick with Twonky (as I paid for it), but not if I'm going to have this sort of limit...

Hey... I also posted on this issue. Thinking that maybe I should have searched before I posted...

I am having this problem: Listing only 974 artists in my music folder which it should be more like 3150.

I am not having it with video, and fingers-crossed it doesn't happen with that.

Unfortunately TMS is the only option (as far as I can tell) for my NAS, Thecus N5200BR Pro to stream to XBOX 360.

Having the same issue as the OP (same hardware too), and have tried most of those resolutions as well.. Are there any other tricks to try while waiting for a bug fix?
