Bit of a newb question, but can someone help me with the following?
I'm setting up a new QNAP NAS, the latest QNAP firmware includes Twonky Server 5.1.4. All my content is stored on an existing LG NAS on my network. What format do I need to use in the Sharing configuration menu in Twonky Server to reference the LG NAS? I've tried using different combinations of device name / IP address, forward- or back-slash before the folder name etc. but Twonky Server seems not to be able to find the content. There are no obvious error messages in the log file. I know that the scanning is working, because a couple of files (JPG and MKV) I've copied to a folder on the QNAP NAS are found and listed. I've also tried prefixing with \\ or //, but still no luck! I'm pretty sure this is just me being dim, and not a software fault.
Sharing configuration: format for IP addresses
Re: Sharing configuration: format for IP addresses
I don't know if you can do ths.
In your ini fie you set the base directory for your content and then specify the path from that base directory on the Sharing page. So, as your LG NAS is not in the path under your base content directory on the QNAP NAS, you won't be able to specifiy it as a valid location.
Can you attach your LG NAS to your QNAP NAS via USB (some have Ethernet and USB connections) so that it appears as a USB disk within your QNAP NAS's filesystem?
