2GB video limit encountered via upnp

Post by mango » Thu Aug 05, 2010 2:45 am

hi i have encountered a 2gb limit imposed when i use twonky via upnp on my playonhd. specifically the mkv file will only play till completion if its under 2gb. mkv files over 4gb will only play halfway b4 stopping. the preview window in the playonhd player shows only 2048MBytes for every mkv file that is over 2gb. my question is there a video cap stream limit on the filesize? my hdd is ntfs formmated and streamed via laptop.

The 2GB limitation you're seeing is not a result of any UPnP or TwonkyServer limitation. TwonkyServer should be able to handle file sizes up to 64 terabytes. Some older operating systems had 2GB file size limitations, but we don't think that is the problem here either. It's probably a device limitation. You can confirm this by trying to play the file on a good client like TwonkyManager.
